Projection Designer: Conspirare

Had the privilege to collaborate with the Austin-based ensemble Conspirare, under artistic director and conductor Craig Hella Johnson.

This was my first collaboration with them, and the first time the group came back to sing together for a live audience since the start of the pandemic!

Joby Talbot's Path of Miracles is such a gorgeous choral work - I felt fortunate to spend time with it, and to work alongside lighting designer Viera Buzgova. Together, we created the environment for the journey to take place - a container for the performers on this journey/pilgrimage (who also incorporated staging). It was also a pleasure to work with TSV Sound & Vision, and engineer Matthew Shaddock.

Michael Barnes reviews the work in Austin 360 with "As always, artistic director Craig Hella Johnson's professional choir sang exquisitely from beginning to end. In this case, the sounds and staging were amplified immensely by Camilla Tassi's allusive images, projected onto the pale, shallow apse and ornate, medieval, dark-wood altarpiece at St. Martin's Lutheran Church, a modernist jewel."
