Assistant Projection Designer: Seven Spots on the Sun, Yale School of Drama

I had the pleasure of being assistant designer to projection designer Chris Evans for the play "Seven Spots on the Sun" by Martín Zimmerman. Directed by Jecamiah Ybañez and presented at the Yale Repertory Theater.

This was actually my first experience working on a play, as opposed to something founded in music (be it opera, oratorio, orchestral, etc), as well as my first involvement in projections for the Yale School of Drama.

We primarily used three surfaces (the upstage and SL and SR walls) to create an immersive sense of projections, which was often very subtle. An example of this is when the set walls begin to 'lose color' during Belen's monologue about losing her sensitivity to the different senses.
