Hired as visual projection animator: Longy School of Music
This weekend, Longy School of Music at Bard College (Cambridge, MA), is presenting its Spring Opera: "Les contes d'Hoffmann" by Jacques Offenbach.
Performances will be in the Edward M. Pickman Concert Hall at 8pm on both Friday 4/21 and Saturday 4/22. Tickets may be found here.
I was hired as the visual projection animator for this project. Its set has included both animated and visual stills, bringing the characters into the different worlds of Hoffmann: scientific laboratory, Venice at night, tavern.. the fantastical and imaginative worlds of made for an incredibly rewarding undertaking!
Animations were done in Adobe After Effects, with mapping and cues done in Isadora. With each passing day, I love Isadora's software more and more.
Creating and mapping animations for classical performances is an absolute a treat and allows me to experience familiar works with in a new light, as I have enjoyed 'Tales of Hoffmann; since first witnessing the 2009 Met broadcast/production.
Toi toi toi to the cast and orchestral players, looking forward to helping and running cues this weekend!
